University of Cape Town online applications are now open for 2025 academic year,Individuals who wish to pursue undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications can now apply for admission.UCT online application portal runs from 1 st April till 31st July.

 

The University of Cape Town (UCT) is South Africa’s oldest university established in 1829, and is one of Africa’s leading teaching and research institutions.

UCT ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

UCT admission requirements defer depending on ehat you  want to study,

To be eligible for admission to degree study, applicants need to meet minimum requirements for eligibility:

• Applicants holding a South African National Senior Certificate (NSC) need to pass a minimum of 4 subjects at a rating of 4 (Adequate Achievement, 50-59%) or better in any four 20-credit NSC subjects.
• Applicants holding a South African Senior Certificate need matriculation endorsement.
• Applicants holding non-South African school-leaving certificates must qualify for a matriculation exemption certificate. For more information please visit the website of the Matriculation Board.

HOW TO SUBMIT UCT ONLINE APPLICATION

• Go to UCT application page  
• Click on online applications 
• Create your profile for online application system
• Fill in the online application form
• Submit your required documents;Transcripts,results from Grade 11 until September of grade 12  and academic records.
• Submit your applications

Note tha:Documents must be submitted as certified electronic copies to admissions@uct.ac.za. Please do not send your submissions to any other email address/es as this will only delay the processing of your application.

HOW TO TRACK YOUR APPLICATION

Once you have submitted your applicatio,you can now track the status of your application

• Go to UCT status check portal
• Enter your user ID and password
• Login and check the status of your application
